About the Cooperative
New River Public Library Cooperative was established in 1996 to further resource sharing and foster cooperation between the libraries in Baker, Bradford and Union Counties in Florida. For nearly three decades NRPLC has provided shared automation, technology, outreach, and administrative services that allow each member library to serve its community more effectively than it could alone.
The Cooperative is an independent special district governed by a Board of Directors consisting of two county commissioners from each member county. Each member library and its employees report to the Board of County Commissioners of their respective county.
NRPLC provides bookmobile service to Baker and Union Counties, augments the Bradford County bookmobile service, and delivers outreach programming to children at local childcare centers across all three counties.

Baker County — Emily Taber Public Library
Baker County comprises 585 square miles in north central Florida. The Emily Taber Public Library is located in the county seat, Macclenny, in the historic old county courthouse. Baker County serves a growing population with a diverse school system including Head Start, voluntary Pre-K, and access to Lake City Community College for higher education.

Bradford County — Bradford County Public Library
Bradford County comprises 293 square miles in north central Florida. The library is located in the county seat, Starke. Santa Fe College provides college-level instruction in Starke, and the library has an agreement with the college to serve its students.

Union County — Mary C. Brown Public Library
Union County comprises 240 square miles in north central Florida. The Mary C. Brown Public Library is located in the county seat, Lake Butler. Lake City Community College provides access to college-level instruction nearby.
