New River Public Library Cooperative and its member libraries in Baker, Bradford, and Union Counties will be a gateway to lifelong learning and discovery. The libraries will provide quality materials, information, and resources in a comfortable environment that encourages community and individual growth.

Service Objectives
Stimulate Imagination. The libraries will provide materials for the reading, viewing, and listening pleasure of the communities.
Satisfy Curiosity. Residents will have the resources they need to explore topics of personal interest and lifelong learning.
Encourage Early Literacy. Parents and children will have access to fun and engaging programs, services, and materials.
Connect to the Online World. The libraries will provide high-speed internet access and technology assistance, as well as online reading materials and databases for research.
Foster Community Collaboration. The libraries will be a central hub of activity in their communities, joining forces with other community organizations to provide local residents with a safe and fun environment to participate in enriching, entertaining, and educational programs.
Resource Development Priorities
In order to achieve our mission and support our library roles, the Cooperative and its member libraries will:
- Promote and defend the principles of intellectual freedom and citizens’ access to information
- Provide resources to meet the varied needs of area residents
- Provide resources in a variety of formats that take advantage of current and new technologies
- Invite community input by giving consideration to suggestions and ideas
- Provide effective access to resources by efficient organization
- Support resource sharing among ourselves and other library systems
- Evaluate and maintain resources through regular assessment
