History
New River Public Library Cooperative was established in 1996 to further resource sharing and foster cooperation between the libraries in Baker, Bradford and Union Counties in Florida. For nearly three decades NRPLC has provided shared automation, technology, outreach, and administrative services that allow each member library to serve its community more effectively than it could alone.

The libraries will be integral and indispensable to our communities by fostering creativity, discovery, openness, collaboration, and innovation.
Mission
New River Public Library Cooperative and its member libraries in Baker, Bradford, and Union Counties will be a gateway to lifelong learning and discovery. The libraries will provide quality materials, information, and resources in a comfortable environment that encourages community and individual growth.

Governance
The New River Public Library Cooperative is an independent special district governed by a Board of Directors consisting of two county commissioners from each member county.
